Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Emily Martinson has practiced audiology since 2015. She earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees from East Carolina University, with a research focus on listening in background noise. She completed her clinical residency in educational audiology.

Dr. Martinson has practiced in a variety of clinical settings with a passion for patient care. She has provided audiological diagnostic services, hearing aid fitting and programming services, and aural rehabilitation in a private practice setting.

She is well versed in hearing healthcare across the lifespan- from children to adults. Of particular interest is hearing aid fitting and programming for the geriatric population and their families. She is also experienced in working with patients with tinnitus, noise exposure, and genetic hearing losses.

Following her tenure in private practice, Dr. Martinson practiced audiology in the industrial setting, working as a clinical trainer. She educated hearing professionals on best practices for patient care, and strived to empower other professionals to give their patients the best hearing possible.

As an audiological trainer, she worked closely with hearing professionals as well as patients to achieve the best hearing outcomes. She also developed educational content and hosted training seminars for both audiologists and patients.

She joined the team at Chevy Chase ENT and Audiology Associates in 2023. Her areas of expertise include diagnostic audiological evaluation across the lifespan, hearing aid fitting and programming, and aural rehabilitation for diverse populations. She is dedicated to providing hearing healthcare with a family and community focused approach.

Dr. Martinson is nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
